Head extension for rape seed harvesting


Thinking in terms of continuous advance, DMM introduced a harvesting attachment into the market, the REPTOL, a head extension for rape seed harvesting. The extension can be connected onto New Holland-, Claas, and John Deere combines.

The ripe, dry rape is usually interwoven and in leant position at the time of harvest. The pods burst easily and the seeds fall out, thus the crop failure can be very high.

By the application of REPTOL, the yield can be increased, as the crop failure decreases. Using the head extension, up to 200 kg/ha higher yield is obtained.

DMM’s head extensions are optionally equipped with side-dividers on one-or both sides, depending on demands. The side-dividers are mechanically or hydraulically controlled. DMM produces REPTOL also without  side-dividers.

•  The head extension elongates the cutting table of the combine by ca 700 mm, thus reducing the crop failure
•  The horizontal cutting table and the sidewalls are fixed by bolted joint, to make easy the attachment to the combine
•  The large, plain inner and outer cover plates fits to the cutting table to avoid choking during harvest
•  The cutting height can be regulated at side dividers
•  The drive of right side divider can be switched off/on
•  The side dividers are narrow-shaped
•  The blades of side dividers are protected by own covers during transportation and storage
•  The side dividers are equipped with long blades for better cutting performace
•  The upper cover plates of horizontal table are cross-ribbed , obstructing the seeds to slide back
•  Each cover plate can be screwed off, because of maintenace
•  The head extension is connected by belt-drive to the cutting table, ensuring the continuous operation without vibration
•  The gearbox gives the drive to the hydraulic pump, which drives the hydromotors of side dividers
•  The hydraulic pump is equipped with torque-limiter, ensuring the protection of side dividers against overload.
